Winter sports at Medinah center around the gun club and the frozen lake.
In the early years, members enjoyed the ski jump and toboggan slide. One year, over a thousand spectators attended a Winter Carnival that featured ski jumping and speed skating by Olympic champions.
The gun club opened in December 1926, and shooting continues to be the favorite winter sport. Members have also organized menís and ladies bowling leagues and the sport is still popular.
