Gene Sarazen blasts out of a sand trap on the No. 4 fairway at Medinah Country Club during the Chicago Open Golf Tournament. Sarazen went on to win over a field of 407 players, and took home $3,000 from the $10,000 purse. One round was played on Course No. 1, and three rounds played on Course 3. The prime mover behind the Chicago District Golf Association tourney was to raised money for the Caddie Welfare Fund.
