A Bold Dream

Founded in 1924 by a group of dedicated visionaries, Medinah Country Club was born from a bold dream — to create a premier golf and social destination rooted in camaraderie, tradition, and enduring values. From its earliest days, Medinah has been more than a club; it has been a way of life for generations of members and their families.

Set amidst a majestic landscape just outside Chicago, our founders, many of whom were members of the Medinah Shriners, commissioned the design of a course and clubhouse that would stand the test of time. Architect Tom Bendelow’s original vision for our three world-class golf courses, combined with the architectural grandeur of our iconic Byzantine-style clubhouse, set the foundation for what would become one of America’s most storied private clubs.

Over the decades, Medinah has continued to evolve while honoring its traditions. We have proudly hosted some of golf’s most prestigious championships — from major PGA Tour events like the PGA Championship to unforgettable Ryder Cup and U.S. Open moments that have become part of the game's lore. But our story extends beyond the game of golf.

For more than 100 years, Medinah has been a gathering place for families, friends, and people who value community, excellence, and shared experiences.
